Pt Saint Charles Reno

A Row house in Point Saint Charles, completely gutted and renovated. We combined the traditional with the ultra modern. It was essential to maintain the feel of the 1875 style and yet enhance the space with the modern amenities of today. A dark small house was transformed into a light open concept living space and the old 6 foot basement was dug out to an 8 foot high finished third floor with additional very large dedicated laundry room. The old floors were refinished and a specialized
plasterer was hired to recreate the old mouldings where they were missing or needed to be added
after the reconfiguration of the main floor. A timely project that we are very proud of.

Dining Room Before, two walls removed to create open plan space

Dining Room After, Master plasterer created a custom mould to build and replace missing original crown moulding circa 1875. All original floor boards.

Lounge/Dining Room before, walls removed for open concept.

The stairway was exposed as part of the open concept and the stairway to the
basement was closed off and part of the original dining room was incorporated into a new
first floor powder room

Dining and Kitchen Before :entrance was opened up to create a lighter more
airy kitchen, The area to the left was taken for the powder room
as this space was a relatively dead area of the dining room.

Powder room after.

Upstairs Bathroom Before. Wall behind the bath was removed.

Bathroom after : the bathroom seemed small but after the demo it became evident
that with some smart fixture choices a custom show and a separate bathtub
were possible in the space.

Master Bedroom Before.

Opposite view of the room, but the floor plan slightly changed with one
wall having custom built in closets

Basement before : old plumbing used as storage, just under 6 feet deep.

Basement after, two new windows let in ample natural light. Recessed lighting around the perimeter allows for great unobstructive lighting. the beams were left exposed for a loft feel as well as the painted
concrete floor. French drain fitted in the interior. Amazing transformation and extra living space.

Back garden with new fence and the stucco panted dark grey. Modern outdoor lighting.
Deck still to come!
